For those who running HaLow nodes, what kind of coverage do you get in urban areas? I'm wondering whether it makes sense to build one if its maximum range could be limited to only 300 meters in my city?

CONTEXT: Moscow currently has a few discoverable HaLow nodes and more than 10 discoverable LoRa nodes on the map. I don't have any, but thinking about building one. And I think I got a little carried away. I see on the map that there are only two LoRa nodes around me that can communicate with others. But I want to think globally and participate in the network more than everyone else.

CONTEXT 2: Rumors are flying that this autumn, the government will launch a massive wave of repression against the people, just like it always does after elections. There is talk of new mobilization, a new wave of internet blackouts, and so on.

What do you think?

Context 2:

1. Fear-mongering on an irrelevant forum. Topics pre-tensioned in one direction to spark dissentful comments, which will just eventually hurt the forum.
2. Suggesting RNS is a tool to circumvent governments. It is not.
   Either overtly provocative, or utterly sense-less. Both ways I suggest either message removal, or just dropping the politically charged with a post edit.

Coverage can in theory rise to a radius of 1 kilometer, and HaLow is decent at penetrating solid matter, but if you want the node to service more than a couple blocks it will need to be higher up than the buildings around it. The best places to put them (if you can) are on top of structures that rise up from the surrounding cityscape.
Finding such places where I can also be confident that the nodes won't be stolen or destroyed is a problem I have been thinking over as well.

Thanks! I'll stick with LoRa's RTNode firmware and TCP-server option for now. I think it'll be easier to make a cheap and sufficient transport node with a set of XIAO nRF52840, Wio-SX1262 and microReticulum firmware in case I need it in the future. And then I could buy a cheap retailed raspberry pi with a HaLow hat, just to make a complete standalone node with multi-interfaces. Maybe this won't be such a problem if people manage to self-organize the network or get used to it by then.
