Interesting pattern on rnode display
Started by wazmac ·
Hey, I am seeing a strange pattern on the display of my micro reticulum rnode.
If you zoom in a bit you can see almost a grid pattern on the display.
This happening on a Ridgetop near home with nearby towers. It seems like interference but it never lets up. I assume I am in a very bad spot.

I would suspect it to be a constellation since there are a few Reticulum related projects that use constellations as their icons
Yeah looks like the constellation the Columba app uses
They are talking about the received signal display I am pretty sure. Usually its a fully filled out block. Not this pattern. I have seen it as well on a friends sdr on the same spectrum. Looks similar at least: https://ibb.co/VYnJP2FX maybe someone with an account can post the image here, lol
I will have to take the laptop and SDR up there to check it out. It was the grid that threw me. I have seen it solid to 50% a few times, but never saturated like that.
This is on a Heltec v4.1 I do have a 4.3 which has the on board BPF so I could try that. I was looking for a spot to place a repeater, which that one is not a great candidate it seems. If I get a small 915 yagi or other antenna with good rejection behind, I can at least see which tower this is coming from. I checked a few times on the drive home and this did not stop until I was at the base of a big hill.
