# Multicast / Group Chats

Reticulum currently has GROUP destinations which work over one hop, but it doesn't have multi hop one to many messaging (other than spamming). Are there plans for it or LXMF group chats? What are they?

I think we do need group chats or some kind of local channel thing like meshtastic, it would certainly help convince people to join local lora reticulum meshes

I can't answer for Mark, but I think it's high on the list of things to add now that the protocol is stable.

It requires a lot of work on both the network and application levels.
