Hello,

I need a forum for a nomadnet site.

I have been looking around and installed 2 different projects to test them :

Topics by fr33n0w https://github.com/fr33n0w/topics

nomadForum by AutumnSpark https://codeberg.org/AutumnSpark1226/nomadForum

None of them worked and both seem unmaintained.

Has anyone any experience with running a simple forum on nomadnet ?
Which one do you use ?

nomadForum is actually maintained, albeit fairly intermittently.

If you haven't already, I'd try your adding the pip install directory to your system path first, for example on Linux you'd add export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH" to the bottom of your ~/.profile file, assuming that pip installs things to ~/.local/bin, and reboot for good measure (source: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/62822956/how-to-make-pip-install-to-path-on-linux).

That makes it so programs can actually run scripts installed by pip. nomadForum, for example, needs argon2-cffi, lxmf, and RNS installed in that way.
You can test if it's working by just typing the name of an installed Python program, eg. lxmf, into your terminal, and if it runs that means it has successfully been added to your PATH.

Thanks for the python crash course LinuxinaBit. I think this part is handled correctly though.

Which, despite being at least partially vibecoded, works first try.

I'll try to compare it with nomadForum if I get it to work and then settle with one of them.
