Columba v2.1.0-beta is (pre) released. Here are the headlines:

• RNS updated to 1.4.2 and LXMF updated to 1.1.0
• Support for markdown rendering in messages (receive only, for now)
• Improved LXST calls, especially latency on ULBW. Not perfect but an improvement.
• Fixed nomadnet true color support. No more incorrect bright green background on rngit pages.
• Slight update to the BLE protocol handshake to allow interop with the iOS version of Columba
• Improved reliability of navigation throughout the app, should be less needing to spam the back button
• Improved message notification handling and auto dismissing when viewing the conversation
• "Last seen" should be more accurate now
• Shared reticulum instance will provide its rpc key now
• Filtered views of the network tab should flicker less. This was at least in part due to announces being heard
  on multiple interfaces; announce cards and node details will now track which interfaces have received that
  announce and will show the interface for the currently active path
• Pyxis can now be updated (not fresh installed) via a USB cable from Columba. This one was mostly as a development tool
  for me while traveling but figured I would release it anyway.

I'm also working on a call history and a voice message feature for the next release, so, there may be a 2.2.x pre-release before 2.1.x hits stable. I was originally going to get these two in 2.1.x also, but time got away from me and I didn't want to
delay releasing an updated RNS version any longer.

Nice work! I just built the iOS version and pushed it to my iPhone today. Any chance you will release the iOS version as a .ipa? Mostly cause I'm lazy but yeah

Thanks! I'm new to the iOS world so I've just been going through TestFlight for now. I'm not opposed to building an .ipa though, but I'm not familiar at all with the sideloading process for iOS.

I have a small closed test flight group now. If you'd like to be included in that, Apple requires that I invite you via email address. You can post your email here or send me an LXMF. If you'd rather not provide an email, I plan to open the test flight up soon.

In android, the contacts screen has a plus button. On iOS, I forgot to add that, will get it added in the next update

Columba 2.2.0-beta

What's new in 2.2.x:

• Resource transfer progress bars. These apply to outgoing messages with Resources, and propagation sync
• Finally disambiguated the single checkmark icon. Now, messages sent via propagation will have a cloud icon. Sending and sent to propagation have two different cloud icons, one for in progress and one for completed. Single checkmark still applies to sent opportunistic messages without a delivery proof.
• Allows the sending and receiving of voice messages. Only supports opus medium quality right now, will add codec2 later.
• Voice call history, as a sub tab in Chats
• Behavior change - when primary delivery method is set to Propagation, this also applies to short messages that would otherwise be opportunistic. This was a user requested change to avoid long retry waits on opportunistic when you know the recipient is offline. In the future I may add a way to change this per message from the conversation screen.
• Dark/Light mode can now be explicitly set in columba, instead of relying on the system setting.

Several polish/bug fix items:

• Automatically reconnecting to a BLE RNode should be more reliable
• Timestamps on messages should refresh when app switching back into Columba while a conversation is already open
• Fixed another case where message notifications don't auto-dismiss when viewing the conversation they're for. Hopefully this one is finally fixed now.
• Fixed another case where last seen could be incorrectly updated, this time by replayed announces from path requests
